大快朵頤時，最掃興的就是看見到處飛舞的蒼蠅，這時就是蒼蠅拍大顯身手的時刻！別小看這簡單設計，尤其拍面上的小孔扮演非常重要的角色。如果沒有小孔，蒼蠅會根據空氣的溫度、濕度與流動變化而逃逸。說到蒼蠅，台語有句有趣的俚語：「要吃蒼蠅自己合」，比喻凡事都得靠自己。用「合」而非「抓」據說是模仿青蛙吃蒼蠅嘴巴開合的聲音，也有貶低對方沒有本事的意思。

大いに食べているとき、最も楽しみをそぐのはあちこち飛び交うハエを見ることです。この時こそ、ハエたたきが大活躍する瞬間です！このシンプルな設計を軽視しないでください。特に叩く面の小さな穴は非常に重要な役割を果たします。小さな穴がないと、ハエは気温、湿度、流れの変化に基づいて逃げてしまいます。ハエについて話すと、台湾語には面白い俗語があります。「要吃蒼蠅自己合（ハエを食べるため、自分で捕まえて）」は、何事も自分でやらなければならないことを比喩しています。「抓」ではなく「合」を使うのは、カエルがハエを食べるときに口を開ける音を模倣していると言われています。また、相手が能力を持っていないことを貶める意味もあります。

Because the slang has a belittling intimation that means the person was told is just as a frog.
